  5. I saw my mate outside the Doctor's today looking really worried.

    "What's the matter?" I asked.

"I've got the big C,"he said.

    "What, cancer?"

    "No, dyslexia."

  11. What exactly is the problem ?

    There's always a way....

  12. 100% With Bradders here,
I was involved in an industrial accident 22 years ago when i was 31 was told i would probbably be in a wheelchair by 40! i am now in my 50's, in pain 24/7 hobble round with a stick and also waiting for a kidney. Sod what the doctor said, thats what pain killers are for, just ride less often, why give up on someting that you enjoy! just go more steady. If the goverment says i am fit to work then i am definately fit to ride a bike, if doctor says i am unfit for work does that indicate that i cannot ride a bike?

  13. I put higher bars on my 999. Neck and wrists were suffering. 40mm higher makes a big difference to comfort, can ride it all day now.

  14. Or go faster. More wind, less grief on back and wrists and shoulders.

  15. In the late 1970's I was diagnosed with austio arthritis. It developed and by the 1990's I was told that, over the next few years I would require new hips and new knees. I resisted this because I was racing historic bikes and the knee operation would stop me riding with rear sets.

In 2011 something unusual happened. I now hove no problem with arthritis and at the age of 70 I am riding all types of Ducati from a Monster to a 748. I must point out that I am not on medication for the problem and have not had surgery.
    What do the doctors know?

  16. divine intervention.

  17. Sorry to hear the news. Health and happiness tend to go hand in hand. Whatever you choose to do and for whatever reason, you know it's the right decision. If it were me and if I didn't need the money, I'd keep my bike, if only to look at from time to time

  18. I totally agree. Keep the bike and get another that is more suitable and is very different such as a Monster. That way you will have both and can use the sports bike on occaisions.

Best of luck. I feel for you.

  19. So there is hope for me yet?

  20. Doctors are rubbish. All they do is guess.
I have just found out I have a hiatus hernia.
He's basically been giving me industrial strength gaviscon for a month.
I had to beg the bastard for an internal investigation such is the shortness of breath and tightness in my chest.

He really should have referred me sooner than he did.
