The Dodgy Vehicle Thread

  1. Well it is listed as spares or repair because of a blown ECU. My friend did exactly the same thing with his MV Agusta F4 1000. It had a flat battery and he connected it to a start and charger. It blew the ECU.

But it is very, very cheap. Can't make my mind up on this one.

  2. All you need is to either have the ECU fixed or get another and have it virgined...

Its a £100 fix if you wait a week or so for an ECU to pop up as an auction rather than buy it now. The engine is probably worth more than £400 by itself, plus the frame and v5.

Even if it's broken there is more than £400 of bike there, in my opinion.

  3. Ok so lets be realistic. Bloke or gal walks into dealer 'I've blown my ECU, can I get another' lots of sucking teeth, 'immobiliser...matching....difficult....' Type words used and teeth well sucked. A grand. Thats what an ECU with new clocks to match would probably cost.

£400 would suggest its likely its more than that, as the engine would be worth that alone, and even as a non runner you'd probably get £700. Maybe they want shot...or maybe its nicked. Mind you, it shows the reg no, so unless its cloned or Mickey mouse it wouldn't be hard to know

  4. Would appear to have been offroad since 2011...
