I read in that there may well be pressure on Termignoni now that Audi rule the roost. They mentioned the recent demise of Leo Vince, another Italian exhaust manufacturer and the possible pressure now on Termignoni, as Audi does much of their work with Akrapovic. Audi may insist on using them as a preferred supplier to streamline the business. First signs of this was the 1199 Superleggera. Could this be the begining of the end?
Slovenian zorsts on a Ducati? Hmmmm. A bit like putting German tyres on it. It just isn't done, old chap.
Yeah. But how expensive are termis? 2.2k for a panigale system? Or something like that....I think there is a terminal end can for hyper for a grand on eBay.....I mean fuck me there's not that much metal and cf in there!....I've only got mined cos it came on the bike...
Does it really matter?... I have Termis, but have had Akropovic on my Yam race bikes. I'd be happy with any improvement over the stock exhaust...
If anything it will make Termignoni sort out their quality because the systems I've seen over the more recent years have been frankly piss poor.
Yeah, I agree. I think Akrapovic are probably the best for build quality but I have to say that my buddy recently bought a Leo Vince for his GSXR750, it was £280 and stainless but came with some really nice real carbon heat shields etc. Just goes to show really that it can be done for less than £2000!
Well, that's the thing isn't it.....whilst I appreciate that most stuff is built to a very high standard - sometimes it seems like "too much for that much metal" - I mean....my termi end pipe I think is 1k....theres just not that much metal and cf in there to warrant that kind of price. I'd say the the best of the bunch from what I can see are SC project. I can get a full 2 in to 2 system for my hyper 1100 for a grand plus the tax coming into the country and that's in titanium! and theres a lot of titanium in that system. On top of all of that when ive had the sub frame and back end off and taken it off it hasn't really weathered that well. If i'd have paid 1k for it id be pissed right off.
The price of exhausts is ludicrous but people continue to stump up with barely a complaint. You can buy a very nice guitar for that kind of money.
Yeah, the Arrow pipe for my Daytona 675 was £460 and it was full titanium and absolutely superbly built, covered in crap from the rear wheel etc and help up really well. I think the 848 termi's were £1700 when I was buying the bike, that's a big jump, regardless of there being two. Plus I think they could well be a bit loud for everyday riding if u have sensitive neighbours, but that's a separate debate!
The slash cut termis are still the best 'styled' cans for the 848/1*98 series of bikes. They 'look' right.
I agree with that yeah. I was just looking at some arrows and they just don't sit quite right with the style of the tail. Akrapovic seems to be the next best. I'll be leaving mine alone though as if I had £1000 to spend it would be on suspension servicing
You can also spend a ridiculous amount of money on a guitar. Because the difference between good and very good is subjective. Good players can feel that subjective difference. But we mere mortals cannot. Well, I can't. But I can tell the difference between a Squier and an American Fender Strat. But could I tell the difference between a Fender and a Custom shop. I doubt it very much.
