Has anybody actually jumped the mountain. Everybody who has had the chance to ride Cadwell would have got the front up, but who has properly jumped it on a trackday?
I've jumped it in races but I tried to keep the back wheel on the track generally for drive. To gain an advantage jumping it needs the skill levels of a BSB rider which unfortunately I didn't have. OGR
I've had the back wheel off the deck briefly (engine span up during the proceedings, that's how I know). Technically, it was jump but not a very impressive one
That's what I was thinking. I don't know why, but I just had this thought about giving it a try after building it up through the day and certainly not on the 1098s. Just think it would make an awesome photo
I've done it on my Monster. It was only my second track day and I didn't mean to. Only did it once. I've done it on my DD race bike on track days but not in a race, and yes I meant to that time. It didn't feel like it came up much but the revs rose. I didn't get black flagged either.
There's a great pic knocking about somewhere of one of the DD guys, Ali Bisson, getting his 620SS almost vertical with about a foot of air underneath the wheel. Must see if I can find it.
Not me.... Had one or two 'whoa boy' wheelies over it. I try to keep things down for good drive into Halls bends. I'd like to do it but I'm wary (scared) of it. I've seen some nasties here. Leon Camier springs to mind. Oooh, errr... I was also on a trackday and some poor twat abolutely smashed his brand spanking R1 to bits over the mountain. I watched it go end over end over end and slid to a stop (on track all the way) just below where everyone watches next to the cafe... I thought 'phew, that could've been me!'
Which is why im currently looking for a good trackbike. Mightbtake a trip over to ireland as for obvious reasons a few tend to be for sale. Seems some nice looking ones on gumtree
