1200 DVT The Search For Sprockets

  1. Having spent what seems like hours on the internet - does anyone know where I can buy a 14/40 sprocket set in 530 pitch for the MS please?

Happy to switch to the carrier and a more "normal" sprocket, but my preference would be for the Ducati original type.

BTW Chainkit.co.uk ... doesn't ship to the UK ... odd for that web address, but there you have it :)

    Thanks .... Dave

  2. I've recently changed my chain and sprockets. My choice was a 15/42 set and that was quite hard to find, and I never did see a 14/40 set offered.
I ran a 14/40 set up for 27k miles and it was fine, though the 14t sprocket showed visible signs of wear after about 8k so I changed it twice before changing the whole thing. If you are set on the 14/40 combo then buy a 15/40 set to suit your budget, then separately buy a 14t sprocket which are easier to find and only cost about £20 for a good one (JT, Afam).

  3. Thanks Coman - I gave up searching in the end. I was told there was a problem with the popular aftermarket 40 tooth rear sprocket and so I've opted for 15/42

  4. What was the problem? I bought a rear sprocket for my 1200s which was down 2 teeth on the rear. I think that took it from 42 to 40 teeth. I’ve done it on my Panigale too, no problem.

Esjot do one for the Multi and it’s 530 pitch.

  5. General availability of a 14/40 set - everywhere was out of stock.

    Still - problem solved
