So its day four and since I collected my Panigale and I am starting to sweat and it’s not just that it’s been 28 degrees in the Fens. My new Pani is cutting out, pull the clutch in, down change and bang engine cuts out, it did it a couple of times yesterday and I thought ‘oh it’s just me’ but this evening it did the same thing, this time approaching a fast bend, I set up for the bend, pulled clutch in, down shift to second, and…….engine off, scared the shit out me, ran wide and up the grass verge, almost going into the hedgerow. I called the dealer and was asked if I was out of fuel…No…..I told them in no uncertain terms if it does it again they can come and fetch it. I am not prepared to drive it back to them. I am working at home tomorrow so if work/ weather allows I will give it another go but not a happy bunny, other than that I love it and sure it just something simple that can be quickly fixed.
My 749 used to do that when I tried running it on just unleaded, putting super unleaded in sorted it. I've never used anything but high octane in my bikes since.
Nice one boy’s, but it isn’t helping me clean my leathers is it, and I only have one hand, the other is holding a glass of wine.
Sorry to hear that mate but lets face it, it ain't good is it. does sound like a side stand switch though.
LOL, Throttle, closed to change down then open Position. Half off the seat, leaned over Sensor, if you’re talking about my butt sensor it was fully open when I hit the verge.
It has done the same to me also. Mostly changing down when approaching a junction. Blip the throttle on the downshift whilst braking, usually from 4th to 3rd and it cuts out exactly at the point where I pull the clutch in for the next gear change. Let it roll and release the clutch and it starts right up. This happened about 3 or 4 times whilst running the bike in during the first 700 miles. After the first service it has happened once in 1,000 miles. I have also experienced a sort of loss of engine power, almost as though the engine has cut out on slow corners. You wind the throttle on and it seems to do nothing, then all of a sudden responds. That certainly tightens things too! The dealer is telling me it's a possible TPS issue. I also have an erratic idle which has developed again which can apparently be down to the TPS. I need to get it into the dealer as soon as I can, but like you a little annoyed to say the least. I'm optimistic though...
Ive had nothing but bother with mine do you get a vacume in the tank when releasing the filler cap ? mine would not blip going down the box ,blip the throttle nothing there ,once the breather under the tank had been reconnected and un kinked it was fine but I think on the whole its a bit of a joke paying 20k for a bike with as many problems ,know the ducati ismo will say its part of the course but it shouldnt be .tell them to get it sorted before it causes some one harm, spoke to a man who is ducati through and through hes got 4 inc a 1098 bayliss rep and he is getting rid of his said its crap to be honest ,let us know mate , and don't convince you love it just because youve paid a lot of cash for it ,im 50/50 at the moment its getting there but they are nothing special .yes good to look at but I like a bike to ride good as well ,good luck matey
I live in hope. Yes, I have spent a shit load ‘upgrading’ from a Fireblade that never missed a beat to what is considered the ‘ultimate’ superbike. So like I said I live in hope or I have an awful lot of explaining to my other half why I am going back and costing us a lot of money in the process. Its early days yet, so I will reserve judgment, assuming it doesn’t make my children benefactors In the meantime. I really like this bike and don’t want to be proved wrong.
good luck on it ,im gonna give mine more time started messing with the abs/tc setting just lowering them one at a time ,its a dream bike for most of us its just disappointing its come out the showroom with so many probs, ps ive had a couple of blades road and race they are good but so boring ,
How can I tell if the throttle position sensor has failed? Ducati Servicing and Tuning Specialists - GTEC Performance
Get it checked over mate then complete the brake in have the service done and see how you go, it's waiting for a good thrashing mate! Watch out for horror stories online you never hear of the good stuff, the net will fill your mind with doubt, I know how good the 1199 is from people who own them, push on with it and the rewards will come.... Not sure what the deal is with the fly by wire throttle on the 1199 and TPS but the dealer will sort it I'm sure think they can set TPS, Idle and AFR with the DDA?
Boring, Are you sure you don’t work for a Ducati dealer with a scripted “are you out fuel” …………did you ever wind it to the throttle stop?
yes mate all the time it did nothing at all to excite you ,its a honda do everything good without making a fuss, and yes ive also had the panni flat stick and there is no way its anywhere near 195bhp, recon more like 165, ive had an s1000rr road and race and they are much more powerfull ,don't care what any one says, and I defo don't work for ducati ,build you a house if you want one ?
