Had a bit of a catastrophe today, bloody bike fell of the stand (straight into my other bike). To spare my blushes (and hide my stupidity) I'd rather avoid relating the whole story. I was relieved to see the only damage was one of the Termi end cans got punctured and a slight mark on the exhaust of the other machine. As the quality of the Termis IMHO is not too clever and I have been lusting after Zards I thought this might just be excuse I need. So can anybody tell me what they sound like are they louder than a Termi end can with the baffle removed? My MOT guy passes the bike with the open Termis and I don't want to push my luck even further. There also seem to be a couple of different types one pic I seen looked like a sort of pea shooter type internal the others have been straight through. They are advertised as "Race" so if there is a "For Race Only" or the like on them where is it. I guess I'll need to install the standard tail pipe pieces and I'm currently running the DP Race ECU which I'd like to continue to use as I'd rather run rich than lean. Any answers or other wisdom from the gnus would be gratefully received The bike is an 07 1098S John
The zard's are a nice bit of kit. The ones I've heard have been no louder than the Termis you have now. Shouldn't have any problems with the fuelling either with the DP ECU in place. ive not seen the different types, but wonder if The pea shooter is a baffle??? Either way, go for what you fancy. Should be just fine any which way.
I have the Zards on my 1098. They are louder than the stock ones but I dont think they are as loud as my mates termis with the baffles out (749). I can't say I have seen any "race only" etc markings on them. Mine are straight through and do not have removable baffles etc. My mate also has the zards on his 1098, we were out yesterday and they really sound well together LOL. I think they are around £850 though?
