  1. Good spot

  2. Compare those pics to the ones of that Greeves cafe racer...

That Duc is a stunner:upyeah: I'd pay the price.

  3. Very nice, the paint and graphics help but, is it Desmo? I would think big difference in value between yes and no.

  4. Does it need to be a desmo? Dunno what the final price will be, but at the moment I reckon it'll be a steal.

  5. Desmo probably a big advantage if its going on track. Big bore, 2 valve motors were what it was designed for in the 1st place to allow wilder cams without valve bounce.

  6. That is no money at all for that bike.. I would pay the asking price except for 3 reasons.
    (1) I haven't got the money.
    (2) I am too old to use it properly
    (3) I have an Aermacchi racer in the workshop that I am past using but couldn't part with.

    Sad or what. img194.jpg

  7. Ooh, very nice. Both of them:upyeah:

  8. Stanforth! Hello mate, haven't heard from you for a while. Nice motorbikes!
Another pic of my 450 if anyone hasn't seen one of the other pics I have put up. Fun bike to ride. I plan to give mine a bit of a tidy up in the next few years, whats the rush though?

The problem with some of these bikes (referring to the racer on eBay now) is the class they would run in. I don't think that bike would cut it at the Manx GP against a Seeley G50 or TZ Yamaha for example.
    Billy.

  9. The old man spoke to the seller after seeing his bikes out on the drive, whilst out riding his a couple of years back.

He is an old boy called John, who is getting poorly, he sold a SP5 a while back that had a replacement frame at some point.

He also has a Ducati 250GP bike.

He is an honest seller with a passion and knowledge for Ducati's.

if it were my thing, I would be snapping it up.

  10. As you say the 450 will not be competive in the Manx. The 350 works and the 250, like my Aermacchi is outclassed by the stinkwheels.
HOWEVER... Much enjoyment can be had just preparing them and whatever their competetive drawbacke they make suprerb cafe racers o0r 'parade bikes.
    Enjoy

  11. I'd have loved that its lovely. However I'm up to my ears with a Guzzi and as I'm getting on (a bit) the last thing I want is another project
