This Looks Like An Impressive Bit Of Kit.

  1. Nice find. May be one of those on its way for my race kit

  2. Huge amount of marketing hype and very little technical data.
Typical of many a USA product.

  3. Yes that is indeed impressive, they have demo videos on their youtube channel. Manufacturer says it "will start a V8 truck several times in a row" from a small battery weighing only 370g. Assuming all the claims are true of course.

To get a benefit from having an emergency battery you need to keep it fully charged, Li-Po batteries age quickly if they are stored fully charged so it might be dead when you get around to actually needing it.

  4. Just bought one from another company which was at the NEC last year, unfortunately they sent me the wrong size battery pack which will not turn an 1198 over! contacted them several times they have now said they will send another larger battery? still waiting! i must say its a great idea though, i have run another set of leads into my rear pillion seat which are linked direct to the battery, this will save taking the fairings off, will keep you posted when the new pack arrives, will also put on some pics

  5. They sell similar things in £1 shops and even Maplin do one. It looks identical to the one on the link, but without the hyperbole.

The XP10 claims to have 18,000mA capacity, (which is normally measured in amps/hours).
So if this reads correct it's 18AH and up to 600Amp, however it quotes various voltages.
This means it claims to have nearly twice the capacity of the standard Ducati battery and three times the crank.

    Yuasa YT12B-BS
    12V / 10AH / 220A crank / 4.1kg
    150mm x 69mm x 130mm

    Micro-Start XP-10 model
    19V* / 18AH / 600A Crank / 0.5kg.
    230mm x 82mm x 31mm

I'd love to test one to see what it really does.
Heat dissipation would be my main concern.
I believe that they are built up from (lithium iron phosphate) batteries and as such should pack quite a punch.
I just wish the Antigravity brand would actually print some verifiable data, preferably via a CE approved lab or more like UL in the USA.

    This guy likes it.

If you put 600Amps through the cables shown, at 12V they will light up like a 100W bulb.

The technology behind the box powers most electric cars, so it is sound, albeit I'd be happier if a Scot / Brit or German was selling it.

  6. Morning Guys and Girls, well the mini jump start finally turned up! 14000 ma looks impressive? a lot bigger than the 8000 they sent before, they sent me the whole new kit so i have still got my old one, i disconnected my battery from the 1198 connected the jump starter Hey presto! started first time, Fantastic, 2 days later my VW Caddy diesel van battery went flat connected the jump starter started first time!, i hadn't even charged up the starter pack between using it, this seems like a great piece of kit My kit, came from a company called Powercase in Canada, the director was very apologetic when they sent the wrong battery pack in the first place, but give them there due they sorted it. The new kit they sent also includes all adaptors for phones/lap tops, pads etc plus a anti surge lead between power pack and bike, i will get some pics later today of my extension lead under my pillion seat

  7. This is the power pack that works! as you can see i have run a pos and neg from my battery to the pillion seat which has the same plugs soldered on as the jump start pack, i also adapted the anti surge lead to plug into my bike then into the starter pack, makes life a lot easier than removing the fairings etc IMG_20150211_080133.jpg IMG_20150211_080244.jpg IMG_20150211_080244.jpg IMG_20150211_080503.jpg

  8. These were £120 with a free compressor at the bike show

  9. This looks like a must have , for me , for touring.

  10. Well. I purchased the xp1 and I cant believe the power it has. I disconected the battery from my 999R and connecter the xp1 . My 999 has not been started for 4 months . It turned over as fast as it ever has and started straight up . Not once but 5 times off the trot. These are unbelievable I didnt think it had a hope of working .

  11. Why not just buy and maintain a regular battery as Ducati intended ?

My Multistrada has failed to start only once, and that was after leaving it for weeks in the cold. In regular use why would a battery not start the bike unless it was knackered, and if it was knackered then replace it.

This is a solution looking for a problem.

    IMHO of course ;)

  12. So when I go off to E.U. for a fortnight is it easier to carry a spare the size of 2 fag packets or wait till it wont start then ring international rescue. Think ill carry this. IMHO of course.
