Page 30 - Ducati 998R Price Guide £8000 - £15,000 not seen one close to the lower end for ages. Page 32 - Ducati 999R quote from Jon Urry (MCN used bike expert) qoutes 'The 999R has gone up £4000 in the last three years' It was in MCN that I read a year ago the sales manager of The Ducati Store saying they had just bottomed out as most R's do at 50% of their new value (£20k new) From what I've seen recently they have been £9 to £10K asking prices for good very low mileage examples. Does that mean they were only £4 - £5K 3 years ago!!! I did see a Fila R up for £14k on Ebay last month which appeared to sell within a week but I guess these are higher due to the 200 only rarity factor.
Kin el !!! It's not showing on their web site - in fact they only have 6 bikes listed total. What's so special to warrant that price? Any links to ads would be appreciated.
I thought the Snells bike was over priced and throw thing in to the mix and it confirms what I thought. (I have put one of my kidneys for sale in the classified ads)
I looked at a few 999r before I bought the 749r. I found a few nice ones for 9-10k if I remember, nothing really below that but there were no "high milers" around at the time. Also a couple of overpriced ones at 13-14k. Fast forward a few years and it doesn't seem like the lay of the land is all that different? I recon super low mileage ones have seen ASKING prices rise 4k but I would guess a decent, well cared for, example has simply held its value. Fila models are marmite but seem to command a few kilometers over a standard R. Similar to when I looked.
Prices for those nice modded ones seem very good.Damn if only I hadn't ridden the arse of my ltd edition 916 I could ask 21k for it.Would have thought it better to put them back to standard spec and sell the top notch parts on fleabay probably to zee Germans. EVR airbox and febur swingarm very nice and the exhaust system on the other with corse seat unit is a work of art. Ive always longed for a 06 999R Xerox in these specs but cant bare to sell the 916SPS and performance parts to fund it.
With 44 miles on it it's not even deemed new to a collector - mad mad price, just think though, there just might be someone somewhere who will be mad enough to buy it. Hope not though!
I bought my Fila R a year ago with all the right bits included - one owner and 1500 miles all documented for £10K which I though was a bargain - it had been for sale at £12K for a couple of months when my offer was accepted. Good to see the one selling so quickly the other week up at £14K - presumably went for the asking price or very close. Only 200 produced so maybe will continue northwards
/ Thanks for that, but both were made as 05 MY too were they? I guess that means the Fila R is by far the rarest model? Do you have the e-mail contact as I have a frame number question to ask regarding one of my 999's
Recently bought a 2006 999r 3800 miles very impressive spec ceramic coated 57s in all over £5k in up grades . With regards to price as with everything you get what you pay for generally. Yes they are holding their value but most importantly when they are mapped correctly they are a fantastic ride with useable power right through the range . So just ride and enjoy .
