  2. Got to be something wrong there somewhere

  4. Gumtree is just a pikey paradise, I'm not sure I'd be happy buying anything from it personally

  5. So of you are someone who owns one of those bikes within tough of m25, I'd be chaining the biggest dog ever to it

  6. they tend to just nick the picture and the description. It's a shame that Gumtree are always struggling to stop scammers as it's true they will never be a threat to EBay until they do. If they only included a facility to build up a history of the seller within the advert (Like EBay) it would help.

  7. A lot of race bikes are b class write offs, so why not? If the rest is ok, just get a frame and swap everything over

  8. You have to have a bunch of certificates to buy a cat b?

  9. I have my 10m swimming 'tificate. Does that count? :p

  10. Looks like the seller is a breakers judging by their other auctions. Still, not a bad price for a 2012 track bike.

  11. Category B
Bike may not be returned to road.
    Parts may be sold.
Motorcycle itself may not be resold. Damaged beyond economical repair, usually with severe structural/frame damage. Parts can be removed and sold.

  12. Yes an envornmental disposal license (the same as scrap yard would have) you then have send proof of disposal of the frame (some councils ask for the headstocks of frames as proof)

  13. Ive been lucky enough to buy a couple of very cheap cat b's direct in the last year or so. All through my father in law who owns a scrap yard. Brake the thing up...sell the parts, scap the frame.

  14. I spotted the bostrom rep yesterday, a simple google images search showed up this very picture with links to peoples photobuckets etc.

  15. If its too good to be true.... Ring them up and see how they seem over the phone? If its email they will tell you to pay them via PayPal then the bike will be 'shipped' to you or at least pay a deposit to hold the bike as they are getting so much interest then you'll never here off them again aka scam!!

  16. Just like this sort of thing only using Gumtree, this person was so kind to try and help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. Hi Guys. As you probably know I am new to this forum. I just thought I'd shed some light on this post. The Ducati Ben Bostrom replica is my fathers. He is indeed trying to sell it however some twonk (putting things lightly) has decided to scrape our ad (description and all) bar the price which we're trying to sell for what we thought a reasonable price of £7950. We advertised it on Biketrader which we thought to be a good reliable call supposed to Gumtree (Only to find someone was going to pee it up for us anyway!) Gumtree haven't helped in the slightest. I can't help but feel violated as to how this has happened. Just a note to all to try and help towards these counterfeits, in the event of someone cloning your ad, chances are the ad was put in several places (Google image search can prove helpful in scouting these things out by DRAGGING and DROPPING the image to the google search.) I hope this has answered some questions however I'm glad I found this forum to keep everyone in the loop. Many Thanks Alex Walker
