Hi does anyone know if its difficult to get these carbon wheels for the v4 / 1299 ducati at the moment on the grapevine.
https://www.ducati.ms/threads/thyssenkrupp-carbon-wheels-going-to-be-hard-to-come-by.747148/. True or not, I've no idea. I can only find one UK stockist who claim to have stock. Andy
Yea that's what I found aswell online. It's just there are a few uk shops that say they can get them on there web sites with a 6 week delivery but I know from an experience this is not the case. Anyway because of a bad experience I've gone off the idea of buying any now.
I bought mine: fitted on my 899 with 1199 rear swing arm. Direct from Thyssen K. They have since sold their carbon division to Carbon Composites.
So it looks like it's near impossible to get them from a uk so called supplier which I think is the posistion at this time. Real annoying that uk suppliers are still saying they can get them when they cant. Just my rant about how suppliers advertise things they know they cant get.
Who says they can't, thats purely just your assumption ? You're complaining about something you've not yet experienced.
Hi it's not an assumption as I said had a bad experience trying to get them from a uk company and after 4 months got a refund as they could not get them. So uk distributors have an issue.
BMW had 2 different companies supply carbon wheels for their 1000RR models. The 72k one had TKCC wheels the road, cheaper, version had carbon hoops that were a flat black colour and very difficult to tell close up, that they were in fact carbon. These cheaper wheels had issues with some of the carbon mat poking out from the surface. I saw myself at my local dealer, one wheel which had carbon “hairs” poking out. No air loss at all but finish wasn’t brilliant.
Looked at the bst and rotobox when I was looking but now as most delivery times are 4 to 6 weeks I've decided not to go ahead as was let down by a online shop in shropshire . To be honest the cost of any carbon wheels that have to be imported into the uk is a joke now . UK customers have to pay much more than european customers for everything. Oh yea thought Brexit was gonna be better for the uk haha what a joke.
