1200 Pikes Peak Times Are Hard. Thinking Of Selling

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Daddy2coull, May 31, 2020.

  1. Work isn’t looking too good at the moment and I still have a year to run on my PCP deal on a 2018 DVT pikes peak. It’s don’t less that 8000 miles. Serviced as required. Unmarked with loads of extras inc givi trekker luggage. It’s going to cost me £12.5k to clear the finance and sell the bike. If I were to leave all the extras on what do you think my chances are?

  2. I’d return it back to standard and sell the bits on here/eBay.

You’ll end up with more that way.

  4. And when work picks up again, you’ll be able to treat yourself to a 1260PP!

  5. The 1260 does nothing for me I’m afraid. It’s a shame that Ducati haven’t turned down the Africa twin route. Looking at standard bikes for sale I’d be lucky to clear what I owe. But if I have the time to wait it would make sense

  6. I’ve just noticed my membership ran out last night. I’ll have to rejoin and list all the parts.

  7. Something is wrong here.
    The 2018 model year is a 1260 not a 1200.

  8. Why is something wrong? I got a deal on a new unregistered DVT in 2018

  9. I see now but what your wrote was "on a 2018 DVT PP" not "in 2018" thus my confusion.
I interpreted your OP as meaning you had purchased a 2018 model.
Now that we've cleared that up, what model year is your bike if you don't mind me asking?

  14. Feel for you @Daddy2coull it looks like your stuck between a rock and a hard place, hope you make the right decision for yourself.
But it looks like you lot in Ingerland are coming out of lock down before us, so hopefully things'll improve soon.

  15. I’ll post a few pics and compile a list of mods. I think I better subscribe again as this is turning into a for sale post.

  17. I wonder if you have had a word with the pcp company? I asked as I pressume you got it new in 2018 and £12.5k seems an awful lot to pay for 1 year left of a 3 year pcp? Also I don't know if your pcp had unemployment insurance built in? Sometimes just calling them may let you know exactly where you stand and what your definate options are.

  18. Noobie is correct, get in touch with the company asap, my brother took out pcp on a 1250 GSA last autumn he contacted the finance company and they were happy to give him a 3 month payment holiday, he had his current contract finished early. Sorry to hear you are in a similar situation.

  19. I can have the three month extension no problem. I haven’t lost my job but I’ve always had 20hrs overtime every week but that’s now been stopped. I can afford the bike but it’s just not as comfortable as it was. My European tour has been cancelled and the bike is due to go back in may so I won’t have the chance to rebook. It just makes sense to let her go.

  20. 12.5k is a lot but that’s the price to clear all the finance and keep it/sell it. They are also writing with a price to end the pcp early and hand the bike back
