Just had a new tire fitted. The metal tire balance things are on a bed of adhesive that when I press against, it's slightly spongy. I've not seen this before or perhaps not been aware of it until I got a bike I constantly look at. Is something like this going to hold at the speed this panigale does? I certainly don't want them coming off when there's someone behind me.
It's the type of tape used in automotive manufacture to hold on badges and even door cladding trims on the new Range Rover - if made by 3m or a similar supplier it will not come off. The 3m tape is approx. 0.8mm thick and foam like - stick like shit to a blanket
As above a decent quality weight will stick on fine but some are sub standard and I have had them fall off overnight as the glue doesn't support the balance weight if it is hanging at the top of the wheel. If it's stuck on firmly after a day or so you should be fine, check by gentle rocking from side to side.
That super sticky foamy shit is perfect. They dont need fusing to your wheel. And the higher your speed the greater the centrifugal force keeping em well planted I reckon. And as stated the adhesive is pesky stubborn shit to get off!
