Hi are the intragated tail lights with blinkers legal in uk .if so is there anyway in uk i can get one
A friend who is an MoT tester told me just last week that he has had a notice from VOSA saying that tail lights with integral indicators are a failure point. I wouldn't waste my money if I were you.
I was going to buy the same lights when I had my 848. I ended up going for the cheap option and relocated the stock indicators to the vents. Looked great and was road legal (I'm sure). I just bought an integrated light for my 899. I'm aware its a MOT failure but a risk that I'm willing to take. Ive got mates that own garages so can get the MOT sorted anyway.
Indicators need to be a minimum distance apart to be legal These type of integrated lights are too small to allow that.
According to the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations: A solo motor bicycle having an engine exceeding 50 cc and first used on or after 1st April 1986– (1)Front indicators: 300 mm (2)Rear indicators: 240 mm Also, I think tail light can only be a tail light or a stop light, it can't also be an indicator. I witnessed my local bike shop fail a KTM fitted with integral tail/indicators this morning. The owner had bought it from a dealer already fitted with this. He left, heading for the dealer to take it up with them.
