Chaps, i've just been perusing flea-bay as you do on a wet sunday afternoon and noticed Snells are selling a tricked-up 1098R with mucho bling bolted onto it (Desmo forks - lovely!), and only 578 miles (really?!) However......it's got a numbered placque on top yoke, and mine doesn't! Do any of yours??? (i know the Bayliss bunch have a numbered placque, but what about the normal 1098R's) see piccy below
There were 1000 made in 2008 to meet the minimum homologation requirement at the time, I had one...there was no number on the headstock ....but this is a 2009 bike so it should be the Bayliss version...I'd expect the numbering to look like this.. perhaps the fancy front suspension needed a wider track....... new triple clamps..
American Import I believe, I think Riders of Bridgewater had a some for sale a couple of years ago, unregistered but obviously 08/09 bikes.
Nope, definitely no plaque on the homologation bikes. For homologation, Ducati had to register at least 100 bikes for the road by no later than 1 July 2008.
I've seen the snells one. No detail left untouched. The giy chucked everything at it, and the forks look right
As mentioned above in a post, only the USA 1098R's were numbered. A few arrived in UK between 08/09. No real difference between them other than that as far as I'm aware.
