Today.... The 1299 is still backfiring on the quick shifter I managed 72 miles of cold yet dry It was cold I had a free coffee at barnstormer BMW I payed £1.30 at Loomies for a coffee I rode race mode all day I am still to loft the front wheel. I am now drinking Beer Roll on spring.........
Poor Alistair... I'm a barnstormer customer that's bought a panigale too. Even after they let me demo an s1000rr for 4 days!! Are you doing their Parcmoto event in April. If so see you there. Bahnstormers get my vote for best dealer I've ever been to though if anyone wants a bm
Yesterday was lovely weather but was working . Today not working but it is pouring down. Grrrrr. Can't wait to ride my 1199. Good job I treated myself to a few goodies at Snell's yesterday. Roll on some sunshine on a day with no work.
I went mountain biking at Cannock Chase. My bike is still hibernating in the garage with the measly 210 miles on it that I did after I got it in order to quality-assure it. I have some nice CRC rearsets to fit, and I am currently considering my options for shorty levers. Apparently ASV do not have any for the 1299 (don't know why and they won't tell me why) although they do have them for the 1199. The Rizoma levers are nice but very pricey... One minor cosmetic issue so far: the air tube cover on the LHS keeps popping out from the upper fairing. Something underneath it is pushing it forwards such that the tags that join it to the fairing disengage.
Also at Bahnstormers on the 1199 Called in for a free coffee But in my defence I previously purchased 2 k13 from them. Totally agree with best dealer comments.
Was it you I spoke to briefly at Bahnstormers? We rocked up on the Panigale 1199s, KTM Adventure and the lady on her GSXR1000? Was a great day for riding, we had an absolute stormer of a ride through the area over the hills, surreal that it's January! I left the KTM and came back with the S1000RR hire back which I have for the week as I ordered a new one on Friday.
The 1199 levers will fit the 1299. I have a set from my old 848 that then went on my 899 and now my 1299.
Are they C5 or R3 levers? Are you happy with the clearance between the brake lever and the throttle housing on the RH bar? I already have a C5 shorty brake lever (from my previous bike) fitted to my 1299. The only thing that concerns me is that clearance. I use the lever with a fairly short span and there's a worry that on a track day as brakes get hot that the lever might foul the throttle housing before it reaches the bar. There's nothing on the clutch side that could cause problems that I can see.
