Today's quandary...

  1. Well I'm looking for a new bike or nearly new bike... I missed out on a bargain this week so I started looking a bit deeper and today went to a main dealer to look at two examples.

First one ex-demo 1400 miles, looked pretty clean but a few things a bit tatty... Chain etc, needed tyres but they'd fit new to sell, plus some nice carbon

Second one, year old higher spec/version 1500 miles, ventureshield, new tyres but they were selling on behalf of a customer... Spotted a few things though... Ohlins sticker on the shock was buggered (nothing much really), then I spotted the r/hand footpeg.. Again not damaged as such but a tad marked, not gravel rash just marked, clutch cover had a few marks which I think was covered with a carbon cover and finally spotted a crack in one of the plastic covers... All this on the same side, hmmm it was advertised as new condition but it didn't sit right with me. Anyways garage has spoke to the owner who claims he wasn't aware of the crack and would replace to sell..

Or I can get a brand new bike with a full system for roughly the same cash, lower spec model though.

    Thoughts?

  2. Pani S and Tri models

  3. Did or is the now defunct Ducati dealer at Uppingham sell theirs? that was an S at a good price

  4. Guess depends if you plan to keep as is or upgrade

Tric best looking by a mile if thats important

  5. Well that's the reason I like the Pani, the tric scheme is lovely but I plan to track it too so all that bodywork would be bubble wrapped at some point anyways

  6. Base then, change the suspension and have the tri scheme done on the track b'work

  7. Makes sense to get the S and paint the track fairings tric colours - perhaps

  8. what prices are you talking?

  9. im not a fan of the electricery adjustable change suspension.......no need especially for the track....

  10. Wonder how long before someone mounts the new forks to a 848/1*98. Then make all the base models where an ohlins upgrade has been done easy to sell on
