TomTom Mount

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by rivets, Aug 19, 2012.

  1. Hi. I knocked up a piece a 16swg aluminium into a mount for my Tom Tom with a couple of folds. It fits over the spigots on Aztecs screen mounts. Just thought I'd share the idea if anyone's looking for an alternative to RAM mounts.

  2. Nice job, do you get much bounce on the TomTom when riding?

  3. LeNoir, yes, it does bounce a bit but it's not the plate, the whole binnacle seems to bounce up and down. I have the screen at the top setting which probably exacerbates the problem. It's ok though, I prefer the location to it being on a RAM mount on the handlebars, looks tidier and easier on the eye as you don't have to look down too far. I'd be interested to hear how others get on with satnav mounted in the same area as I was a bit concerned about how much it moved at first, not having had the bike long, there does seem to be quite a bit of movement when you grap the top of the screen and move it

  4. The whole mount does bounce as you say, My Tom Tom is mounted with a ball fixed through the top support, and is in a waterproof case ( i use a car satnav) to eliminate the excessive movement i have some small velcro pads which fix the case onto the screen.
