1200 DVT Tomtom Sat Nav Fitting - With Ducati High Level Mount

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by MrACD, Mar 3, 2022.

  1. I've come to hardwire my TomTom rider 410 in, straight away come up with an issue! - Wonder if anyone has done this and what the solution is?

The Nav holder can only be screwed in from the front -

Now the TomTom hardwire mount can only be screwed in the back (that's what she said).

I don't want to use a medley of ram mounts as it will stick out too far - what the hell do I do?

    Cheers.

  2. You need to replace the stock mount - I think the guy from iconic (Jamie?) who is on here does a plate that might fit but check out his website also.

If you are really stuck PM me, I think have an old piece of billet that might fit from an older TomTom, it’s a bit beat up but behind the charger you won’t see much. I can measure it up but I will have to find it first.

  3. The Ducati nav bracket has something of a propriety mount plate and only fits the Garmin Zumo 390/395 models that they were pushing as the Ducati nav solution.

The Ducati bracket can be adapted to the regular AMPS hole patten that the vast majority of sat nav cradles have by the use of an adaptor plate that replaces the plastic 390/395 mount plate. A member here used to make them, though no longer I fear. It was Desmo Dave, worth giving him a shout if you do need one, he may still have them in stock.

I have one of these adapter plates currently in use with the Ducati bracket and my Garmin XT. You do need to bend the metal arms of the bracket apart slightly for the new adapter plate to fit.

If you don't already have the Ducati mount I suggest buying an alternative one with the AMPS hole patten such as the Iconic.

  4. I use a similar, but better Nav mount. Similar to the Iconic mount. The Navihalter mount. Its way better for mounting a TomTom. That one you can mount the Nav holder
    from the back.

  5. Is the Navihalter available again? When I bought my 1260 in late 2018 the guy who was essentially Navihalter had been involved in a serious bike accident and production ceased. At the time the option was really just RAM or the Ducati bracket which is, as far as I can see, a Navihalter clone but with their silly 390/395 plate.

Since Iconic Parts have filled a gap in the market, first with a mount not dissimilar from the Navihalter and Ducati one and now with their later model.

  6. I’ve got a Navihalter which will fit a DVT or 1260, it also has the 3D printed extension parts which make it easier to adjust the screen when the Sat Nav is fitted. This was for a Garmin unit so not sure if it works on a Tom Tom. If anyone is interested send me a PM and I’ll sort out a price

  7. The Iconic nav mount bracket is much the same. I wasn't aware that Navihalter had issues, but they do come up on forums and eBay quite often.
