Too many accessories not enough dosh!

  1. So having "invested" in a Mutley I need some guidance from other 1200 owners as to accessories in terms of must haves through to may be's.

Example, Is a wheel removal tool more important that screen adjusters (aztecs) etc. you get the jist.

Starter for 10 My mutley is a 2010 base model with ABS, Topbox and panniers.

Sensible pointers please as at the moment Im really looking for practical additions over cosmetic, but at some stage in the distant future a little CF may come into play.

ps I havnt got a bottomless pit of dosh!

  2. Why would you need to remove your wheel?

    I never have.

Just chuck petrol in it and ride it.

Sorry if this sounds a bit obtuse but my philosophy is to spend as little time as possible with my bike stationary and a max with it moving.
I appreciate that yours (and many others') may be completely different.

  3. MRA Vario Screen, the original is abysmal.

Tyre repair kit, I have used a Rema Top Tip and would not be without one, works a treat, but check the tyre pressure asap as the CO2 canisters largely vent to atmosphere and not into the tyre.

  4. Well my first buys off ebay were:

    Puig light Tinted screen
Givi TPH02 tanklock mini tankbag ( fits on ring around filler cap)
    R&G Radiator guard
    Fender extender
    Paddock stand

And some Muc off stuff to keep her looking good !

  5. Forget the wheel removal tool, just buy a quality socket.
    Engine bars.
Evotech rad & oil cooler guards.
    Puncture repair kit.
    Ride it.

  6. Mine in order were:
    R&G crash bungs
MRA Sport Screen (would probably get the Pikes Peak one now)
    R&G Radiator Guard
    Pilot Road 3s
    Mivv Suono Pipe
    Fatducs

I haven't got anything else on the list, the bike is perfect for me now. If by wheel removal tool you mean the Oberon socket don't bother it's made of cheese and can't handle the torque. Just get a normal socket and breaker bar.

    cheers
    Paul

  7. Some mods can be done relatively cheaply!

So here is my list...In order of purchase
    Front mud guard extension
    Carbon tank guard and protector!
Add fenda extenda (need to keep the crud off the front cylinder)
Cricket bat handle rubbers ( to protect and maintain the Ducati grips works a treat for cheap)
Mivv Ghibli exhaust and decat pipe....enhances low down rpm and mpg

  8. Thanks for the replies folks. Most of the mods mentioned are pretty much where im likely to go in the fullness of time. I want to get this beastie sorted in terms of performance, then cosmetic, then improvements, but I will also need tools and stuff to keep her looking her best and for tyre changes etc.

Having done a few motorway miles this morning, I think Aztecs will be the first purchase. A little too much buffetting for my liking.

  9. Pazzo shorty levers

  10. Barkbuster lever protectors, heated grips, lower seat and a Puig replacement screen.

  11. alll you'll need for 3 week touring...

    and of course some cases!
