899 Tool Bits List?

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by psych0hans, Jan 8, 2018.

  1. Hi guys, since I bought my 899 used, it didn’t come with a toolkit(the previous owner probably misplaced it). Yesterday while riding the shift peg of my gear lever became lose and thanks to not having a tool kit I couldn’t tighten it and it eventually fell off. Eventually I did manage to find a friend with a tool kit and transferred the brake side peg onto the gear lever(aftermarket rear sets).
Anyways, I really missed not having a tool kit handy and now I want to put together a small kit for the bike. What do I need to get? Thank you!

  2. Just make up your own with a couple of multi tools ?

  3. The toolkit they come with probably wouldn’t have helped you anyway!

As Bradders said, I tend to keep a leatherman under my seat. However, going over the bike a couple of times tends to prevent it happening in the first place.

  4. Yeah, was just hoping for suggestions for what kind of tools I should be keeping.

  5. Common bolts that fall out. I tend to carry a Allen key bike tool, 13/12/10/8mm small spanner’s, small adjustable, cable ties and multi tool like leatherman which has screw driver etc.

  7. If you ride with Honda riders, a packet of fags and a johnny works well ;)
