  1. I'd go for one of these, but that's just me I guess...

  2. The standard topbox is a givi 55l, cant remember what model it was based on.

Have you got the mounting plate ?
The ducati one is shaped so it looks better on the bike, and comes with a pair of support bars too. You can use a standard givi monokey plate, but it looks a bit pants in comparison.

    Hope that helps.

  3. No just the standard plate John, hence my Q. The link includes a plate I just don't know if I need another plate too

  4. SW-Motech do an adaptor plate to take the Monokey mount, but it doesn't have the support arms. My SW plate has a veeeery slight bend in it after 4-5k miles, due to wind pressure and lack of support arms, but it is fixed safe as houses, so all good. I now use a pair of spring lock straps through the loops on the box, for added stability, just in case?

  5. The Givi kit for the multi has the same supporting bars.

  6. I think the Givi for the multi is 48 liter one..

  7. I have a Givi 30L as well as the Ducati large top box, the 30L one I think ideal for getting a helmet in there and general day to day, any givi monokey will fit the Standard Ducati Plate.

  8. Yes, your small Givi looks ideal for those rides where you don't need the big box, i.e. most of the time. It would be good to have the option.

  9. Can someone who knows click the link and let me know if I need anything else...I fear there may be another plate needed but cant tell for sure

  10. Problem with that page is that it doesn't show the plate nor supporting bars. If it is the genuine Givi article, then its the same as the Ducati OEM as it is supplied by Givi anyway. Why not drop the seller a query?

  11. It shows a plate (unless I dragged the wrong link) and a monokey box

  12. The Plate Looks Right. But no bars

  13. Hi,
I have just stuck an advert in the for sale section for the same Givi top case your link is for. It comes with mounting plate and bars and in VGC.
    Inbox me if your interested,
    Cheers

  14. Not too worried about arms, wont be used much and never had arms on previous top box kits

And I wonder if you just remove the std top and put this one on.

Or, is there a plate that goes below this one.

  15. The Ducati branded box and mount is worth hanging on for, especially if you take a pillion; the extra support bars and seat pad are great according to my missus. (i'm never going on the back though) the box is rock solid so doesn't bounce and bash her when the road gets lumpy

  16. Mine is attached by these two plates.
I have the aluminium one, which has bent a tiny amount. This bolts onto the existing Ducati grab rail mounting points. The resin adapter plate fixes to the metal one via 3, quarter turn pins (I carry a 10p piece around to undo them). The box then just snaps into place, simples. I have a piece of high density foam under my box as the connection wasn't as rock solid tight as I liked.

NOTE: I removed comment about steel plate, as it is for a different luggage system.
