V4 Top Box And Tank Bag Mounts

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by John W, Jun 24, 2021.

  1. Hi all,
There is an outside possibility despite what I've posted before that I could end up with a V4s (long story).

I would rather not buy the urban pack to get the top box and tank bag that I already have from my current bike.
    So the questions are:
    - will the tank mount from a 1200/1260 DVT fit on the V4s filler ?
    - has anyone got the parts diagram / list for the top box mount and any brackets it needs ?

A further question, will the electronic filler from the 1200/1260 DVTs fit the V4s tank ?

    Cheers,
    John.

  2. The V4 tank filler looks standard Ducati design and the holes line up with the tank ring from my SW Motek tank bag (not yet fitted) attachment so what fitted a 1260 should fit.
Top box mount is COMPLETELY different and is now a moulded part, hard to see how it is fitted, any adapter plate should fit the V4 rack plate.
No idea about keyless filler cap - never used one. I get a blank key cut from the red key and use that for filler, and luggage etc, no issue if that gets lost as the main key is in a zipped pocket.
Only had mine a few days so still playing with it. :)

  3. Thanks Veetwin.
Good to hear the filler sounds the same and my tank bag will hopefully fit.

I will have a keyless filler removed from my Enduro (if the deal comes off), just wondered if anyone else had already tried it.

what I'm after is a copy of the parts diagram and parts list for the top box mount, so I can buy just the mount bits without having to buy the entire top box kit. Sounds like I will have to ask the dealer for them.
I already have a top box that fits all my bikes, so don't need another just taking up shelf space ;)

I agree about the key, we always have a spare non chipped key that the wife has to get into the luggage while I'm in the bar :yum

    Thanks again :upyeah:

  4. Update - I am told that the Givi Top Box from a DVT / 1260 wont fit the new top box plate as Ducati (or Givi) have moved the fixing points and the rear latch is now further way from the two slotted fixing points. You will need to check that your existing top boxes fit any new plate.

  5. I'm not convinced that is the case Veetwin. (no pun intended)

I visited Snells for a demo ride a week or so back on my 2012 multi. I swapped the topbox between the V4s and my bike without issue. I use the topbox from the 2012 bike on my 2018 enduro too.

The deal has fallen out of bed now anyway :pensive:
