Top mounted oil cooler - pics wanted

  1. Before I commit to getting oil pipes made up for my 944SS project, I need to make my mind up how best to route the lines. Connections are to the top of the cooler. I have seen one or both lines go under the horizontal pot. But think I like them both up the right hand side. Got any pics of your setup? Anything you would do differently next time? Cheers

  2. Do you mean like the hypermotard set up?

  3. Looks good..

So did you just buy a set of Hyper oil lines and stick them on?

  4. I just needed one hyper line, bought from Ducati Glasgow. It looked standard, bolted straight on and routed alongside the remaining line like it was designed that way.
I've also done this on my SportClassic.

The one OE Ducati line was a similar price to getting two aftermarket lines made, but I like this set up better as it looks original, plus I despise the chavvy red/blue fittings on aftermarket plumbing.

  5. I'm with you there! My original plan was to use a real world hydraulics supplier - I have access through work - and use stainless fittings, but the 'off the shelf' route does appeal. Decisions, decisions.....

  6. Good to meet you yesterday Dave. I think my mind is made up. Just need to see to what extent Harry can 'sharpen his pencil'

Very nice SportClassic, it was drawing a lot of attention :upyeah:

  7. eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

Heres a set on ebay, theres always the added cost of being charged import duty,VAT,postal collection charges and anything else they can think of on top of the actual price but it may be the best budget option.
If your patient a set may come up in the UK or Europe.

Something about this set makes me curious too, they dont look like a standard Monster set as advertised- they're too long

Dont know if they'd be long enough for what you want though, might be worth contacting the seller and asking him to measure them for you though.

Good to meet you too, hopefully I'll be able to get out more than I managed last year

  8. Someone beat me to the ones in the UK :frown:

  9. Thats a drag.:frown:

(wouldn't surprise me if it was someone reading this thread as oil lines aren't a rare or particulalry sought after items. )

    BTW, like the alloy swingarm.:upyeah:

  10. They look great (wish my bike was that clean).:upyeah:

One of the next little things I may also do is to 'hide in plain sight' the crankcase breather tubes by wrapping that in stainless braid to match the oil lines.

I'll look forward to seeing this on the road one day.
