If this has been referenced before then please point me in the right direction! Struggling to find any cohearence between what is discussed on forums and what is actually available on places like eBay. It been pointed out that the 999 era of "Red" is actually "Ducati Anniversary Red" and differs from the shade of red used in the previous (916, 996) generation. Details seem to be: ANNIVERSARY RED (ROSSO RED) 473.101 All I can find on eBay (Europe - not UK) are references to completely different paint codes such as DUC/309 (Rosso GP Red), DUC/306 (Cherry Red), DUC0035 (Tangerine Red). I would source from the UK but can't transport paint on a flight - classified as flammable. Does anyone know which RED paint code is correct for an '03 999S ?
I just bought some off eBay (item link below) for my 2005 999 and it matched up on frame and fairing well, only needed a very small amount to touch in a couple of chips. Surely something like this can be posted? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/14496631...NcNecRcRZq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I find that Ford Radiant Red is an acceptable enough match in most cases. But as the Ducati Rosso appears to vary anyway you might be lucky.
This link to an earlier thread on this forum may help. Tom. https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/paint-code.97741/ .
It may sound odd but I use Humbrol enamel #19 bright red for stone chips on the fairing and it’s spot on. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/17522499...ar=474429963546&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
