Lucky enough to spend the day in Venice yesterday and a thought occurred to me. If for whatever reason all the travelling tourists had to return home for a week or so would there be enough room in their countrys for them. I think if everybody from the Far East had to go home the likes of Japan would sink as half the population are travelling at any one time, just a thought. We are in Bardolino on Lake Garda and it's mid 30's and 60% or more humidity. None of the bikers here wear any protection at all just sandles, shorts and T shirts for obvious reasons. But after seeing the pictures of the Tour de France competitors with all the gravel rashes it makes me cringe. Also not many Ducati's here, nearly all scooters and BMW GS's. Low to mid 20's will do me at home for biking.
We spent a week staying on lake Como. Fantastic but the antics of the bikers (and car drivers) around the lake was frankly downright scary and few bikers wearing Any protective gear, helmet seemed optional! We also went to Venice, this was in term time across England, France, Italy, Austria etc and the place was heaving!
I would have loved to do that, instead i went to misano for the wsb then the ducati factory tour also to coriano and the marco simoncelli museum and a trip to san marino. oh well.
