I'm off to Portimao in a couple of weeks time for my first foreign trackday  I have to get my bike and crate loaded for transportation this Friday and I am very busy at work at the moment so I started a checklist to make sure I don't forget anything ... and I thought I might as well make it cover everything needed for either UK or foreign track days and post it up here in case anyone found it useful Can you think of anything I've forgotten? Leathers Helmet Visors Boots Gloves Back protector Chest protector Bike socks Under suit Contact lenses Earplugs Visor cleaner Spare knee sliders Camping chair Camping table Gazebo Kettle/flask/mugs/tea/coffee etc. Cool box Generator Extension lead Plug adapter Food & drink Sun glasses Hat Sun screen Flip flops/crocs Shorts T-shirts Warm clothes Umbrella iPod & charger & headphones/speaker dock Camera & charger Phone & charger Cash/cards/wallet Driving license Passport Insurance Documents Bike documents Track day / car hire / hotel reservation docs Jeans, sweatshirt/jacket, trainers Bike Keys! For foreign days you can't take the jerry can. That's a pretty good list for the UK. About what I take in the van. You'll have to trim it down some to get it all in a crate!
Not always! It started off being for my foreign trip - then I thought I might as well make it cover both. Good call  Yep - both added
You won't get noise tested at Portimao but I'd still take the Db killers, you will have a garage there although it can be tight so no gene needed. Your main thing will be getting it onto the pallet the double bike pallets allow you to get more loose stuff stashed on them. What about wets on wheels or spare tyres? If you take your tyres with you you'll save a few quid but loose space on the pallet. Last time we pelleted our bikes (November for Jerez) we were stopped from using the dark/black cling film wrapping stuff as it prevents customs from seeing what's inside the pallet. You will also be given 4 straps to secure your bike which is plenty.
Don't panic about general tools as there's always more than enough knocking about, just take your own bike specific tools. And plenty of extension multisockety things.
