  1. I really enjoyed Mutley pushing me to my limits (not the other way around!) at Brands Hatch but I couldn't help but think a sportsbike would be better for such larks so I am taking delivery of this 2006 R6 tomorrow. Whoop!!

Is there a good quality Yam/R6 forum that people can point me at?

  2. No idea but I know a bloke who does a good line in exhausts, looks like yours has fallen off. If your thinking of track days I'd suggest you give Castle Combe a miss.

  3. Nah - wanted a new gen and road legal but cheap. Tick, tick, tick.

  4. You'll probably have to get that can changed though mate, very unlikely to make a drive by 98db day at full chat, and those r6's don't go anywhere unless they're at full chat.

  5. Superbike school is 105 (or was at BH anyway) but still - suspect that an exhaust called an Akrapovic 'Megaphone' is unlikely to be super quiet :)

What's a nice looking but quieter exhaust I could get, pref 2nd hand from ebay because unlike my Mutley I don't intend to lavish the R6 with great expenditure.

  6. You'll be forever cleaning the crap off those white wheels

  9. So - the '06 R6 turned out to be a lemon (I bought it sight unseen from a dealer on ebay...yes, i know. I KNOW.): seized steering bearing, clutch problem, no history, grey import, wheels shagged, etc). Thankfully the dealer had it picked up and gave me a full refund (not even counterfeit cash, which was nice) and apologised profusely. So, I decided to go down in budget rather than up and as a result this was delivered first thing this morning.

1999, 25k miles, 2 owners, always garaged, traded in against a new Ducati - she's mint. Before I rode her for the first time this afternoon (wasn't able to test ride, only inspect in detail) I was like "Meh - it's 15 years old and has 1/2 the engine capacity of my Multi. How exciting can it really be?". Wowzers, way to be wrong very much? The thing is like a ferret. On speed.

  10. Looks nice :)

  11. Any idea if it will sneak under 105db with the existing Akropovic? Not supplied with the original exhaust (I wonder if it was a factory option actually).

  12. Download a free Db app to your phone and "test" it. It'll give you an idea

  13. Great idea, thanks. Don't think it was a factory option on reflection because it has 'No for road use' stamped on the can :)

  14. Why don't you just buy a cheap track ready bike?

edit..maybe you want to use it on the road too? looking back I'm not sure
