hi all, im running an aged 600ss as trackday bike and my tyre warmers wont fit under standard front mudguard as my front tyre is a michelin power one 120/70/17,i know I few of the des/due nutters are on this site ,can u tell me wot u guys use?? is it some kind of universal guard ? and if so which ? or do I need to alloy plate and rivet the b/stard to fit ?? thanks guys, chris
is the 'v' profile power 1?, if so this fouled the mudgaurd on my 998 untill i raised it a few mm the DD bike use dunlop qualifiers i think, which use a more standard profile
nah, holes are recessed and stepped inwards to fit the marzocchi shocks,i cud lift them up a hole and tie wrap but it looks plain stupid -trust me,just way too high
I made some aluminium risers to fit my Showa forks to lift the mudguard by 12mm, they can't be seen...............I will check and see if they fit the Marzocchis as well.......Will update later..... Original drawing below............I have it on ACad as well so it could go straight into a laser cutter, which is how mine were done. AL
They won't fit the Marzocchi without some modification........ ..........basically omit/remove the lower boss, then bolt onto the Marzocchi lug using the lower pair of holes; then drill through the Marzocchi lug at the lower boss (removed) hole location and M6 tap the hole in the lug..... Job done..... Or you could actually do it with a couple of plates and a spacer boss quite easily. AL
yeah that's what I had in mind ish but I was gonna remove both bosses and alloy plate it with spacers, but I am being lazy and was hoping someone had found a race fairing company and had a easy replacement bolt on affair-I have found an old Honda race mudguard but again this needs a fair amount of work to fit
Just take it off. Not like it will do much at 100mph flat out on track. Less hassle my 848 doesn't like warmers, barely squeeze in with BSBs, but the BT016s I fitted meant it passed the mudguard easily
i did it with a strip of carbon and the captivated nuts like on the exhaust heat shield.raised it a bolt hole.
