1299 Trackday Limits

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Dr.D, Dec 28, 2019.

  1. Hi all,
So after just getting my 1299S, I am starting to look at trackdays to really appreciate it. Just looking at Brands, Snetterton and Donnigton at the minute, and probably Silverstone and Bedford.
Ride by limits seem to be 92 or 98db, and and static 102db.
My 1299 has standard silencer on it, it will be ok right? I just have a niggle in my mind after reading a couple of years back people not getting on track with standard pipes.
    Cheers

  2. With a road legal exhaust you would be unfortunate to be turned away at an MSV track and some tracks still offer a loud (105db) day which you should be fine at. Be aware that Silverstone prices for next year have gone through the roof. Andy

  3. Rode it to your nearest track when a bike day is on and get them to test it. Shouldn’t cost you anything and saves you paying for a track day and being told no. With little chance of getting your money back.

  4. Friend did the above at Oulton Park with his Ducati. Had Termi’s on. Cost him nowt apart from fuel to ride there and home again.

  5. It can depend on the bike as well, seen a few Duc's get by some how on some tracks with the old 'Panigale' pass.
Rare I know, but every now and then this year you did see Corse's n Speciale's running Akras being allowed on.
You'd be pissing in the wind with a 102 MSV day but a No Limits day I'd chance it.

  6. You’ll be very lucky to be below 102 dB on the static. I’d wait and book a 105db track day.

  7. Been covered loads of times mate.

it will be fine on the standard system! It may fail static but msv have special dispensation for the panigales

  8. They didn’t when I was at Brands. I couldn’t get under 103 dB static and MSV wouldn’t let me on track.

  9. when was this? I spoke to the circuit manager who I personally know who told me the above unless they’ve taken a U turn? The official stance by msv was that panigales with standard systems are fine if they don’t fail the ride by.

I’ve ran various panigales in the fast group at brands. Although I did get black flagged last time on the 1299 as I was getting quicker

  10. It was around May this year.

  11. very odd

  12. So I’m guessing a v4 with full akro is a no go in the uk?

  13. no chance unless the rider rides around on idle

basically if you’re a fast group rider forget it. Standard bikes fail at msv tracks.

  14. I was at Snetterton earlier this year and in the garage were 2 v4s with full akras, 1 passed static, the other never. Both with the same set up.

  15. Bedford are very unforgiving on noise IME

  16. Seen one pass Silverstone. With a full Akra personally I wouldn't bother turning up and either wait for a loud Donny day or book a Euro.

  17. Cheers guys, as I thought really! I’ve got it booked in to have full akro fitted in 3 weeks but am seriously considering just leaving it standard! Oh well
