Hi Everybody I've just bought a 959 for my trip from Mugello to Barcelona (moto gp) and then onto santandar for the ferry home, taking 2 weeks all round. i'm travelling solo, so i would like to know whats the best route / roads, any advise on hotels, sights, or general must do's or defiantly don'ts! Not planned anything yet, so would appreciate advise on, book hotels in advance? or just see where it takes me, What the general security like (while bike is parked up at hotels / B&B) Got a sat Nav, and a ruck sack Thanks
Awesome adventure, and great choice of steed! For starters you have Passo della Futa right off of Mugello which shouldn't be missed I know the motorway from Bologna to Turin is an incredibly boring waste of tyres so presume it's worth looking at the coast roads via La Spetzia, Genoa and on to Nice but have not done it so couldn't advice? Regarding security I'd definitely advise sticking to hotels with indoor parking in any of the built up areas. We've never had any problem finding them riding in Europe. We're hoping to move out to Barcelona but no idea if we'll manage it before you get there!
We used to wing it but now with www I book ahead on booking.com and look for hotel with private parking.
