Dunlop announce withdrawal of their rear superbike slick.

Looks like it's more than the bad batch statement. I also saw the pics of Davy Todds delaminating FRONT TREADED pic from the north west.

Dunlops answer is to only provide treaded rears.

If possible, you can't blame teams jumping ships. Better to buy and race tyres that will last than race on sponsored tyres that won't imo.... Not that I'm a tyre expert.

  2. Trouble is ,they may be in breach of contract if they use anything else.

  3. Yes, I too thought that. Then, aren't Dunlop in breach of contract by failing to supply contracted tyres?

It's a tricky one, I understand the motives behind the announcement though.

Dunlop should free contracted teams due to their failings imo.

  4. Dunlop will move into damage limitation mode. Riders will be free to use other brands. They will kept heads down for a while. Then eventually the truth will out, probably in the early winter. They have a big job on their hands restoring riders confidence. Would you go over the mountain at 200+ mph on a Dunlop right now? Not many would volunteer for that.

  5. Not a good advertisement for dunlops. Going to hit them hard on the sales I reckon. Should be some good pair deals on fleabay lol !!

  6. If my memory serves me, something similar happened before where tyres wouldn’t do a lap, never mind several. Clearly someone is in deep poo in the Dunlop Racing dept.

  7. I expect there is something about "fit for purpose".

I'll still ride on Dunlops, I don't put the tyres anywhere near through the same stress levels as these boys.

PS, D213 GP PRO is one of my favourite tyres.
