  1. Got to say, YUMMY!!

175BHP naked V4. Me wants one.
    Tuono V4 1100 Factory

Sorry, not sure how to post pics.

  2. A superb bit of kit, I've spent the past few days going through the shall I shan't I stage, cost v time to use to is a factor but so is keeping my license.

  4. While id love to have an "easy version" of my RSV4 I think the whole front of the tuono needs sorting out....its a naked so loose the fairing side panels and (personal opinion here) make the whole headlight area smaller....I know its an older post but everytime I see one I think that's what needs to be done...

  5. I agree with CS. Its not a naked. I've absolutely no doubt that as a rider's bike its peerless but personally I don't like all the graphics. Plain moody black - like the black Streetfighter S - with just a single discreet Aprilia on the tank, or plain blue would do it for me.
And decatted with a carbon GP exhaust can..
Fantastic bike though. I'd buy one if my numbers came up.

  6. Yep- although my rsv4 is going - the one amazing thing about it is the noise....

  7. I love it but fear the Aprilia logo on the side is a cock up as it doesn't actually say Aprilia?
    APRILA?

  8. I don't like the graphics, looks a mess. Other than that the Aprilia Tuono is the best super-naked on the market.

However, the worst thing about the Tuono is Aprilia...

I have a 2014 Tuono from new and Aprilia are the pits. Selling mine as soon as there's another Italian super-naked on the market.

  9. I know I didn't (but, you wouldn't go for the s1000r?) it seems that all the reviews ive read say that if you don't buy that you need your head looking at! I say that in contradiction as you know ive got a zed!

  10. That has to be one of my favourite naked bikes. Agreed that they could do with toning down the graphics, I bet there is not much on 2 wheels that's as fun.

  11. Nah - I had the S1000R for 1/2 a day when it was released. Very quick bike but it was lacking in character. It was fast, lots of toys, seemed well put together but I just didn't connect with it, it didn't engage me and I knew I wouldn't enjoy owning it.

To summarise: I found it a tad dull and didn't stir the emotions.

  12. Bingo! - that's pretty well what I thought....the first time ive ever had a test drive and im glad I did as I had one lined up to buy...my summary would be "disconnected!"

  13. In summary the tuono isn't "naked" enough.....I may as well just take the lower fairing off my rsv4 and stick some straight bars on!

  14. ... Now if only Ducati would pull their heads out of their hipster led marketing arse and build a new super-naked...

  15. I felt exactly the same. I found it completely clinical. Technically I couldn't fault any of it (except pronounced buzziness in the bars) but I couldn't bond with it either. You don't walk round it after a ride with a fixed grin on your face just staring at it and thinking 'kin hell! With the Beemer you just think Yep. Excellent. Everything working perfectly. And then you walk away and do something else.
If I had one in the garage I wouldn't steal over to sit on it and make mental engine noises when I went in to get something out of the chest freezer. You do with a Streetfighter. You do with a 1290 Superduke. I'm sure you do with a Tuono.
BMW have produced stupendous performance and then somehow managed to sterilise it. I actually prefer the water-cooled 1200 boxer engine to that four. The performance numbers are smaller but the grin is bigger. If forced to have a BMW naked, I'd pick the R1200R over the S1000.

  16. Yup - so would I. I'm going to test ride one in a couple of weeks time.

With the Tuono you make angry growling noises and swears as you imagine dealing with Aprilia customer service when it all goes wrong. Similar I guess...

  17. Yep - when I finished my test ride for the first time ever I handed the keys back and felt absolutely nothing....weird as that's the first time in 25+ years of biking....strange...

  18. We should probably leave the S1000R alone now, that boy who bought one not long back will sense the disturbance in the force and rebuff our comments.

  19. yep - sorry - back on subject....tuono 1100 factory....crashed into a sticker shop or no? Discuss:

  20. I dare not ride one as I know that I'll want it and I can't be doing with Aprilia anymore.

However, the presence of the factory specials tells me that Aprilia have a new bike in the wing and they're chucking out the old models to clear stock and materials.
