  9. When you read a bit, seems they don't get any allowance unless they clock in. So if doing work outside of parliament, they don't get anything. Hence they clock in then piss off...but of course they can then also claim any other allowable expenses...

  17. Indeed. Members of the HoL do not get any salary or fees as such. If they don't attend the House they get nothing. The daily allowance is set at such a level that a peer who attends every day of the year that the House is sitting receives a total allowance similar to the annual salary of an MP.
