1200 Two Questions.....handlebars And Ufficiale Ducati Shop.

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by nuttsmutts, Feb 5, 2017.

  1. I am moving house, and most houses I am looking at have a path to the rear garden which is about 4 inches narrower than the widest part of the Multi. (Mirrors and handguards.) Has anyone on here fitted replacement, narrower bars to their Multi for any reason, and are there any pitfalls?

The official Ducati online shop, in Italy advertise on here. I am registered with them and get special offer e-mails. I just tried to place an order and it appears that if you do not live in Italy you cannot order? Brexit come early?!

    Thanks.
    Jon.

  2. No and give the shop a ring or email them. New builds are dreadful, no garden, no privacy, shared back-yard access.

  3. In answer to both questions............get a bigger mortgage. You're gonna need them :p

  4. Or do what I did get a porch built with an extra side door. porch.jpg

  5. I wouldn't go for narrower bars, it will change the handling and not in a good way. Adventure style bikes tend to have wider bars, larger front wheels and respond more to leverage and counter-steering etc. If you can't get it through and along your new path, or store it in something or somewhere else, you may have to consider a different style bike with narrower bars. Maybe a Pani with clip-ons?!? Good luck

Re the Ducati shop, I ordered stuff from them for some Christmas gifts in December without any issues. They posted to the UK no problem.

  6. I have a similar problem at the moment, my Mutley ONLY just fits down the side of the house, with about 2mm to spare when I get to the gate....

But we're having our roof replaced and there's chuffin scaffolding everywhere for about the next 6 weeks.. I can't get out. :(

  7. Thanks for the suggestions:
ElToro, I don't do mortgages, and the multi has only cost me in bling over the last 2 years!
Teetheowl, I wonder if something like this Motorcycle Centre Stand Mover Dolly Constands black with the front wheel on it with front brake on, will allow me to use almost full lock, but travel straight forward, as obviously the width is then reduced. I would only try this pushing it, riding could be dodgy!!
    Jon.

  8. That sounds like it could be a plan....

Did you sort his problem out? I had the same problem, and was going to do the same thing with a centre stand dolly. Instead, I cut a hole in my wall and use it to get the handlebar through :)

  10. Nice style Mojo!! I decided on another house in the end and magiced this up: 20171004_082237.jpg 20171004_182228.jpg 20171004_082302.jpg 20171004_182135.jpg Cheeky little 10' by 12' workshop. Cost a small fortune, but I did the slab myself and it will probably last longer than the house, it is seriously heavy duty build. Not as creative as your solution, but it works for me!!

  11. PS. I should get loads of bonus points for all the wheelie bins?

  12. The shots of the bins are awesome :upyeah:

Shed's not to bad either ;)

Have you seen the steel cages you can get to make them more secure. ? and I don't mean the bins.

  13. I have heard of them, but it is belled up on the house alarm and two ground anchors through the floor and way into the slab below. Bike alarm and alarmed disc lock. Freindly retired neighbours too.

  14. I wish I could move house - we actually do need to now that the kids are getting older - just can't afford to :-( I'd love a shed like that. Excellent work :)
