I’m looking to get a pair of tyres fitted and have been told by two different people they don’t have the kit to balance Ducatis with the single sided wheel, and most don’t bother having the rear balanced anyway? I’ve looked at the wheel on mine and it has no weights on it and has seemed fine in the time it’s been on, is this normal or it’s looking like I’m going to a main dealer to have them fitted. Cheers
In the 26 years I’ve had my 996 I’ve never had the rear balanced. The front yes. Make sure the tyre fitter aligns the dot with the tyre valve to minimise balance weight being required. https://www.familyhandyman.com/article/red-or-yellow-dot-tire/
