After a puncture today i have decided I need a repair kit. Only taken me 50 years time get around to it. Anyone have recommendations for one, or ones to keep away from?
Used a Dynaplug on many occasions to good effect. Not the cheapest but really straight forward to use. Only down side, you need a means to re inflate the tyre but there is a big choice of hand held, lithium battery, rechargeable pumps on Amazon. Andy
I use Dynaplug on my bicycles, regularly. I recently bought the m/c version, hoping not to use it. I also catheter Ride magazine recommended Michelin rechargeable tyre inflator.
Stop and go tyre puncture repair kit https://www.mandp.co.uk/products/stop-and-go-pocket-tyre-plugger-tubeless-standard-561467 Very good, used it several times. You need to inflate the tyre with some other means, mind.
Same here - had a puncture getting off the ferry - so carry this now. This Oxford one has a storage bag so is easy to store in luggage. Not put it to the test yet, Might be an idea to add a small electric pump and ditch the CO2.
@ducv2, whatever solution you decide to go for, my advice is to do a one off repair in a gash tyre so you know how to use it when the time comes. Each variant on a theme will have its own frustrating idiosyncrasy. Andy
As per @Android853sp's comment from time to time I do some mock repairs so to be ready when it happens in real life. Here you can see the final result of the Stop and Go kit from the inside of the tyre. You then inflate the tyre and cut the stem at the tyre level.
One thing every puncture repair kit omits is a pair of pliers, or a leatherman or something similar, to assist in removal of whatever caused the puncture should it still be embedded in the tyre. Once you get the puncture repair kit, pack the Leatherman multi tool too.
