So, the scorpion 2's are just about shot. I fancy something a little more sporty what's the consensus?
I liked the Pirelli Angel GT2's once I got used to them during 3500 miles of commuting, touring and playtime in 3 months then a puncture. (previous 6 years running metzeler tourance on a GS1150) The bike is now on the T30's but they were fitted at the start of the really shit weather so bit hard to tell as there has been nil decent grip
So many threads on DVT 1200 Tyres as well as the 1200 Mutleys, generally people go for PR4's (on most bikes now days) there is not a better all round tyre for any bike let alone a Mutley in my opinion.
I have just replaced like for like, I enjoyed the wet weather feedback as I use her all year round. only ggot 2,700 miles befor ribbon appeared. never mind kept me upright.
just got a screw in my rear scorpion 2 , 1700 miles in Looks like PR4's for me as well , would be interesting to know what peeps are paying for a set of these ?
Why not something really sporty? Say Pirelli Corsa rosso? I heard they last about 3k and transform the bike.
I can't get hold of any T30s until April. The distributor here is out of stock. So, I'm replacing the st2s in the meantime. They do give awesome grip in the rain which is needed here in Asia downpours. I'm about the only guy in the world who doesn't rave about PR 4!
PR4 lasted 4K in my 2012... 4K Km!! They were plenty of waves, maybe due to too many twists at high speed...
I'd be happy to replace my brand new Scorpion 2 for PR4's before I ride the bike, let me know if anyone is interested in these. the dealer is not being too helpful with my request.
Having tried a fair variety over the years, I've come to the conclusion that there are simply no bad tyres out there these days, even the race schools run sport touring tyres these days
Love the scorp 2's. I've a couple of friends that agree with the above that most tyres are great now. They but the £130 a pair Maxxis super diamond things and love them. Tempted to try a pair.
