Hi all, just a bit of a UK based question as im looking at a RHD car here in Germany and as I'm trying to track its history ( if its been a write off etc) and would need its old UK registration to check on the UK Gov sites.. anyone any ideas? its a BMW if that makes any difference Cheers
I just googled " registration from vin number " and all sorts of free and paid services appear that all claim to be able to do that in a instant.
hi Buddy, not on my Google search sadly , remember im outside of the UK so the results may differ.. those that popped up was Vin from Registration, and im looking for the other way around..
yep I was just trying to be objective regarding the critic of my Google powers Im trying to HPI the car but need an old UK reg number and the seller says he cant find the old number listed anywhere.. the search continues..
Run what you want to achieve via HPI. They will tell you if it is possible. https://hpicheck.com/contact?gclid=...tzHXJa7cjlvtG_PPCkDw-kHwyAI5Y7xkaAlzLEALw_wcB
When I looked into this some years ago the VIN was insufficient, you needed the reg number for HPI and to get a new V5.
got it.... thanks for the input gents I just had an email from the seller he found the old VRN in the paperwork ..
For future reference. This website suggests they can check a vehicle on the vin only. https://vinhistoryuk.com/?gclid=Cj0...1ri-5vaGVqp9S9CVYtHfF52D4_iLJlxYaAhX8EALw_wcB I have not used this service but found it on Google so it may or may not work.
Found this on Facebook, not used it myself but might be able to help someone. https://www.facebook.com/vin2reg.co.uk/
