I'm off to the UGP for the first time this year - must be about 15 years since I was in Belfast (probably when I last went to the NW200!). There are a few threads on the GP from a while back but not much info. Would anyone who's been care to suggest good places to watch, or top tips? I'll be there for a few days so if anyone spots a battle-scarred black Mutley it's probably me. (if it's being pushed then it's definitely me ;-) Cheers.
Deers Leap is a must. Also if you can get anywhere close Rock Bends at the end of the Flying Kilo. Also the hairpin about a mile before the start line (often seen on TV) but to be honest you will not be disappointed anywhere. Enjoy.
The Ulster GP web site has good descriptions on the course and where to stand depending on what you want. Posted the link below. Vantage Points | Ulster Grand Prix As above, you are close to it all, several roads into each parts of the course. have you sorted your accommodation?
Ta for the suggestions so far. Looks like I wont be able to see it from home with me binos, and will have to catch the ferry over after all . Accommodation already sorted
I'm starting to get the faintest glimmer of the feeling of a notion that Ulster might be a good place to go to see the GP :Snaphappy: Staying at the Days Inn, Belfast I believe (still awaiting confirmation in writing though I'm assured it is booked... :Nailbiting.
Great racing, cracking night out in Belfast and would definitely go again. As said the hairpin about a mile from the startline was good, hard braking, great for piccys
Done a few laps around tonight for the 1st time on a bike. A lot of cars so care needed. Nice bikes about the place. Had a white 899 for a bit of company. Real nice experience. Shame I can't go tomorrow.
