Just spent an excellent week riding North Wales mountain roads last day today before we ride back to London tomorrow and notice my wife's chain on her monster 696 is severely cutting into the swing arm and grinding it away. Without a 30mm spanner to adjust the chain. Ride down to Bill Smith motors a friendly Suzuki dealer in Bangor and borrow a spanner. Trying to adjust chain in the car park when a guy on a tidy 750 supersport pulls up and comes over to see what's going on - he suggests the front sprocket may have moved on the shaft and sure enough the toothed washer that holds the sprocket in place no longer has any teeth and it's moved in on the shaft. Bugger 300 miles to ride home and nothing to hold the front sprocket in place. Until the guy on the supersport produces a spare one from under his seat! As I say unbelievable. Didn't get his name but if he is on here then big thanks he has been with the same supersport for 16 years.
