anyone else tried one? I used to wear a pair of running (tight) bottoms and a long sleeve quicksilver rash vest under my RST 1 piece, and that worked very well, I recently managed to pick up a one piece undersuit at a bargain price and that is fantastic, if anything even better as it dispenses with a waste band. Anyone else tried anything other than boxers / t shirt with good results? the beauty of the undersuit (and the rash vest / running bottom combo) is the smooth fabric makes getting leathers off far easier on a warm day.
I did just wear a T' shirt n my under crackers, now I have a Ducati one piece under suit, that I wear, more when it's warm as it works like a wick, which is quite comfortable, and eases the removal of my leather too. I'm thinking a f*cking wet suit soon tho! :frown:
Tell me about it, its just not stopped. At this rate there is a chance my Yamasaki commuter hack will do more miles this year than the Ducati.
Lol I wore a tshirt tucked into tights Then found a nice thermal top again tucked into tights Stopped the back draft and toasty legs
I did consider wearing fishnets and a string vest under my leathers, but was a bit concerned if I was in an accident, what they might think when they cut my leathers off.lol
hehehe, that would be funny! you cant beat something nice and fitted and stretchy though. under leathers a bit of lycra really is your friend.
Used to wear berghaus long sleeve top and bottom, then got a biker twin set which had to be cut off so will be getting a 1 piece next time
Lol been through that I used to just wear my undies When I injured my knee as pillion I had to attend A&E and my leathers had to come off to sort it out I was wearing a little lacy no. so embarrassing when I had to leave wearing the hospital cellular blanket round me as I couldnt get my leathers back on.
in the the cooler / winter months i wear a set of Mountain Hardwear base layer. Extremely effective - and durable, had mine for 15 years!
I use Skin prolayers pretty much all year round. I also have a one peice Proskins undersuit, which is good to commute in, but not very long for long days in the saddle as you have to upzip it all the way if you need the loo. The material is very good thou and they do come in a two peice form as well. I bought some Hein Gerike ones as well which are very tight under the arms and I bought some SUB dual layer prolayers, which feel like Skins but are too loose around the waist and too tight around the ankles. I fancy some Alpinestar ones as well, but they are pricey. Using these makes taking off my leathers very very easy
Is it though? The concern I have over all the non-bike specific stuff is what happens in an off? Does it melt in the heat generated by a slide and stick to you skin giving you severe burns, or doesn't it? That used to be one of the things that separated quality leathers from cheapo stuff - the safety of the lining.
I use pro skin tops & bottoms under my 1 piece kit, if it's a bit chilly i use a helly hansen thermal top...toasty !!
Heli Hanson lifar top long or short sleave. they are a base layer, wick away moister when hot and keep u warm when cold- highly recommend 5*. cycling shorts for the bottom half. However a mankini is very accommodating too!
Use some windstopper bottoms and a spada long sleeve t-shirt, one of those that wick moisture away, both really good.
I wear this get up.... cause Im bringing sexy back ! Yes I hate the carpet ...... who the hell chooses orange carpet (My landlord) its not the 70's!
