hi guys how hard is it to get hold of a stand-alone upmap key? is there a noticeable improvement with the performance map (not the racing) on the stock pipe?
Worth chatting to a dealer if you do want it but I thought the UP Map was specifically for the Termis so I'm not sure it would be worthwhile on the stock pipes? My last Panigale had termis but no UP Map and Snell Performance got me a map from another customer who no longer needed it due to buying a full system. There was a big difference in running and performance for me on Termis but I can't say how much of that was simply due to getting the latest maps from the factory as they had some substantial upgrades early last year.
Ive got a full Termi system here without the bloody key so i'd be interested if anyone could get hold of one
spoke to a tuner, and they said using the up-map with the stock exhaust wouldn't make sense, as it wouldn't make any difference./ I am not quite sure I agree, as a different map should give a different response anyway (or not?) anyone here tried this?
I agree with them - if they know their onions. Different, yes. Better? No! The map will not be as good as a custom map, but as far as a factory "chip" map (i.e. super extra special safety sure!) it'll be optimised for the standard setup. (And this goes for the termi map too - it will be a compromise as one map (digital) has to suit all bikes (slightly analogue - there will be room for error. Custom maps will usually be more bleeding edge and obviously attuned more closely to one engine. So in theory, better performance) It isn't just a case of it being blanket better...unless you know what the settings are and can actually see them on a computer and dyno it....just stick to standard if you dont have termis or whatever. Or custom map it for proper results. Rest is just pub bullshit
