Rang the dealer today for a update on my problem riddled Multi 1200 st ..... Apparantly they ran a series of diagnostic tests which threw up some fault codes all indicating a low battery voltage/possible charging problem , I was speaking with a third party and not the actual mechanic , However I was assured that a component had been replaced , the bike run back up and retested diagnostically speaking and all is well , They are taking for a test ride later , and another at end of week as Im off back to Somerset for a few days and cant pick it up untill Monday anyway Well I will reserve judgement untill I have it back and have put a few hundred miles on it , But I fail too see why a low voltage/charging problem would have any bearing on a bike that has started repeatedly cutting out when engaging first gear and occasionally cutting once on the move
Can't remember, have you had the kill switch unit replaced on yours? I had it confirmed to me today that that was what my bike's cutting out/engaging 1st gear problem was.
No I havent , As my bikes 2012 it has the later switch anyway , Faulty switch would make a lot more sense to me than a supposed low voltage/charging problem , Anyway I,ll say nothing and pick it up next week and see what unfolds...
Unfortunately that the problem with modern bikes, too much electrickery. Imagine whats going to happen to todays bikes in 20 years time, they may be worthless because of the price of parts and the lack of expertise to diagnose problems. Anyway Dave, I hope the bike is now sorted once and for all, there is nothing worse than losing confidence and trust in it, and wondering if it will get you home.
