749 Used Dp Ecu Locked

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Duc748, Feb 23, 2023.

  1. Hi. Looking for advice on a used dp ecu. Having installed ecu, on turning of key dashboard flashes a key icon. Is there a way to bypass the imoboliser to start the bike ?
    Thanks in advance

  2. They are coded to the key I believe.
    @chrisw?

  3. Depending on ECU type
    IAW59M - immo disabled
    IAW5AM - immo disabled or virginised (virginised will be like a new uncoded ECU)
    You have been unfortunate as DP ECUs were not usually coded by the dealers on installation.

  5. This may save others having problems. Just because an ECU is in a DP box and has a connector cover cap with DP stickers on it does not mean it is a DP ECU. Checking the info on the labels on the actual ECU will confirm things for you. There is a handy database via JPDiag to help with things https://jpdiag.akress.com/modelselect.php
    Google is also a good source of info and also the TuneECU map repository
    https://tuneecu.net/Ducati_Tune_list.html

    In this case the ECU was not a DP ECU. It was a stock 749S mapped ECU that was coded to the bike it came off. In fact, it was not even an IAW59M (as suggested by the DP reference numbers) but was in fact an IAW5AM.

    Anyway, all now sorted and the ECU has been virginised and flashed to DP mapping.

  6. Hi Chris,

    I have been pointed in your direction by a few folk now with regards to a problem I'm having with a 03' 999 and hoping you can help. Appears there's a fault with the ECU as the dash is consistently displaying the engine light along with "HI" voltage reading (15v +). I've replace the voltage reg and have checked the voltage across the battery with the bike at a consistent 6k RPM and it's not reading above 14.2V. Have also cleaned up all the earth points and fitted the exact start upgraded cable kit and the problem still persists so assume its a faulty ECU as the bike was sat for some time in slightly damp conditions before I purchased it.

    Is there anyway I can get in touch with you to discuss the possibility of purchasing a 1098 5AM ECU and sending it to you to be flashed with a 999S map (full 57mm Termi system fitted as well)?
