Lift your arm and look underneath it, or go faster so there is no need? I think there are extended mirrors available - sure I've seen some on Ebay or somewhere - don't do bar end mirrors, they look awful.
got fed up of :lifting /dropping my arm: and driving faster is why i want to see whats behind me oh so many points sadly have checked ebay but found nothing for 999 cheers
What's the point if you do extend them they'll more than likely shake even more making a totally blurred image.
Lift your arm and look under, it's a 749/999 thing. After a while you start to like it, like flagellation.
Why they never applied curved mirrors to these bikes I dont know. My 1198 is just as shite and the 916 is even worse.
I fitted a rear view camera to my 1098. It cost about £50 off ebay. It is especially good for spotting other bikes sneaking up behind you.
I have the Ducati performance mirrors and they work a treat. Not sure if you can buy them from the dealers still but worth keeping an eye out on flea bay.
I just get used to the bad rear view mirrors on all my Ducati bikes, if they still sell them Oberon used to sell the mirror extenders for the 749 /999 so I guess the best option would be to check out their web site which is Oberon Performance hope it this helps.
