Hi. Since having this bike from new I noticed that on the piece is exhaust sticking out of fairing there are what I can only call marks like they have been left by some sort of vice/clamp. I told the dealer and they say they will disappear in time but I’m not convinced. That are quite in there. Anyone else got these? I will post pics ASAP.
Yeah post up some pics, there are two heat lines appearing on mine in the exhaust collector but otherwise not sure what you mean
Likely autosol out but that shouldn’t be down to you. I’ve had a few pani’s all from new and never had that. It’s worth thinking though after a few thousand miles it’s not going to look like that anymore as it will go dark. It may not be as noticeable then.
Its the grain in the tube highlighted due to the clamp from the pipe benders used to form the pipe. If it really annoys you... take off the faring and polish the pipe - depending what finish you want - you can use coarse or fine emery paper - wrapped around the pipe in like a horse shoe shape and buff the marks in the araound - not longditudal direction.. you can go from 180 grit - if you like the scratch lines up to 1200 grit if you want it polished - then switch to back of the paper or a cloth with autosol to bring it mirror... depends if you want to invest 1 to 2 hours a side or put up with it. As has been said - it will discolour anyway - so if you like a clean pipe - maybe this is a good place to start..
Oh well if yours is the same maybe I’m being abit anal over it. They did say it will colour down. Hope it does. Thanks for advise
TBH I may end up getting mine coated at some point if I can find a ceramic coating that looks as close to stock as possible (not chromed and not too dull) that can help with the heat.
They look like clamp marks from the bender so it's part of the manufacturing process. You could polish them out but that's like painting over woven carbon.
Hi Guy's Posted this in Random picture thread, been told it was the wrong thread...so posting here!! The only forum with V2 in the title so putting it here, anyone got any advice regards V2, interesting reading about pipe, didn't notice on mine but not looked properly yet lol.
