Hi people I currently own an 2021 speed triple 1200rs which before that I owned an gen4 bmw 1000rr M sport my question is would I be disappointed in the v2 after owning such powerful bike's? Would love to hear your thoughts?
The V2 is a completely different bike. Not a lot of torque so you have to rev it hard and use the gears. If that’s your thing then the V2 is awesome; however if you just like to stick it in one of the higher gears and use the big bike torque then the V2 is not for you.
The V2 feels very light and easy to ride, quick moving. Was tracking a S1000rr 2021 for some days and the only thing that is better on the beamer is the power. V2 is a bit stiff on the road, but I kind of like it now after some time. The Triumph feels heavy compared.
What do you think of the Speed Triple 1200 RS? I'm planning to go in the opposite direction (sold my Street Triple 675 Rx and 959 Corse) and intending to get 'one bike that does it all' in the Spring, which would be the Speed.
The V2 makes more power than Carl Fogarty’s WSBK winning bike ever did. It is (a lot) faster than you. And me. And everyone on here.
Hi snips If your planning on getting the speed triple 1200rs Don't wait.....do it incredible bike does everything, super low down grunt all the way to the red line, handles like it's on rail's....looks are super in my eye's anyway to me it's a supersport with the easy riding to me it's a keeper.......
I swapped out a fully kitted ZX10R with Ohlins suspension and a Woolich Map that made best part of 195bhp at the wheel which I used for Trackdays for a V2. Much more fun and on the road I didn't miss the extra power one jot, in fact I find the V2 quite a torquey motor compared to a screaming Jap 4 Cyl.
I always think what a croc statements like this are. Someone judging everyone else by their own talent, or lack of it.
Initially when I saw the V2 I wanted one. It looks amazing and on paper it made so much sense for the UK roads. I rode the V2 and my RSV4 1100 back-to-back to see what compromises if any I was making. The V2 rode amazing, light, nimble and confidence inspiring, but there were some downsides. The engine felt slow (this is in comparison to the RSV4) and everything felt pedestrian. There was no thrill of the ride, it just did everything very well but in a boring way. When you're in the twisties it was great, massive grin factor, but when you wanted that punch out of a corner it just wasn't there. I found the QS to be very clunky and the brakes to be vague with no initial bite, I was finding that I had the grab the brake twice to get the biting power I was after. Suspension was OK, soaked up the bumps well but felt a little soft for spirited riding. When I jumped back on the RSV4 I was instantly happier. Noise, power, handling and looks were all there in bucket loads. Yes, it's too powerful for UK roads, but my god you could never grow tired of that speed. If I had the opportunity to own both machines then I would in a heartbeat.
whoah. If you are a faster rider than the V2 allows….can I sponsor your race team? And I don’t mean in a straight line.
I'd normally disagree with such a view, but as there are people on this forum that race them and one of them at the upper end I agree with you on this. For road though, it's unlikely to ever reach a limit simply because the road environment would mean dead no matter how talented.
Why is it with every post @pauly gets involved with it turns into an argument. What is wrong with you mate?
