In case this happens to anyone else ... Hadn't ridden my V2S for maybe 3 weeks and even though battery should OK, I put the trickle charger on yesterday to make sure battery topped up. Rolled the bike out of the garage ... engine turns, but doesn't start ... doesn't even sound like it's getting close. I turn it over maybe 7 times - nothing. Then I disconnect my phone from USB charger and the satnav - bang starts straight away. My USB charger is 3A and the satnav maybe similar. I can only presume the power draw was enough to affect starting ??? Or was it a coincidence? Bike hasn't failed to start 5-6 times today with same devices plugged in?
